Beej Mantras

Powerful beej mantra

Beej Mantras are the monosyllabic sounds. A beej mantra represents the essence of the mantra. Every devta has particular beej mantra. Generally a beej mantra consists of single syllable but some times it comprises several syllables also. There are five main beej mantras. The beejs of the five elements, of Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth, are Haum, Yam, Ram, Vam and Lam respectively. The Sankrit word beej in Hinduism and Buddhism is used as a metaphor for the origin or cause of things.

Some Powerful beej mantras are as follows:

Om or A U M ॐ

Om is most important among all the beej mantras. A majority of mantras begin and end with this sound. Om means yes and it affirms anything what is said after its pronunciation.

Haum हौं

Hrim ह्रीं

MANTRA THERAPY

Mantra Therapy is the positive practice of concentration on a particular sound. ‘Mana’ means the mind and ‘Tra’ means vibration. Any sound or word that creates positive vibrations in mind is called a Mantra. Sound is a form of energy made up of vibrations or wavelengths. Certain wavelengths have the power to heal, others are capable of shattering glass. Repetition of Mantras in meditation, will bring individual to a higher state of consciousness. The practice of Mantra leads to concentration of the mental power at a particular point and then allowing it to be equally distributed over the body so that one experiences mental bliss. The mind feels relaxed and all systems of the human body function in a normal manner.

Scientists have proved that chanting a Mantra can cure many if our physical and mental problems. About 98% of our problems are psychosomatic. ‘Psycho’ means the mind & ‘Somatic’ means the body. Most of our problems start from the mind. Too much of stress leads to high blood pressures, nausea, dihoria, migraine, acidity, eczema, respiratory diseases and many more. The practice on Mantra librates the mind from all the suffering, irritability, over attachment, ego, lust, and helps one enjoy the spiritual bliss. By chanting a Mantra one feels absolutely blissful and relaxed in the mind. During meditation, we always use a Mantra and try to get rid of all the thoughts that are present in the mind. Mantra can be chanted internally (In the mind, Inaudioable) or externally (by chanting loudly, audible).

The internal Mantras are generally small and are also called beej mantras or seed mantras. They are powerful vibrations having great healing powers and are on wavelength far beyond physical sound. In meditation, use the internal mantra as barrier of thoughts and allow the mantra to take the place of thoughts in mind. This simple technique of reducing of all kinds of thoughts in the mind is a very powerful technique to reduce stress. Consider your Mantra as your guide and friend.Take the help of your Mantra whenever you feel down or low and life, when you are angry lonely, afraid, undeceive or in trouble. Your Mantra will help you increase your will power, sharpen your memory and motivate you, thereby making you more confident person and a better human being. Many patient have completely recovered from their sickness by chanting mantras. Even when the disease is incurable, the patient’s experience great relief by chanting a Mantra.

The Magnificence of Mantras:

Even in this present age of materialistic life Mantra-Shakti can prove to be more powerful than the Yantra-Shakti. Mantra is a divine instrument with the rare potential of arousing our dormant consciousness. Thus it helps develop our latent powers and brings our original greatness to the fore. The parents give birth merely to our physical body whereas the True Brahmanishtha Sadgurus, the personages established in their True Self, give birth to our Chinmay Vapoo through Mantra-Diksha. Man can attain greatness by developing his dormant powers through Mantra. The regular japa of a mantra reduces restlessness of the mind, brings restraint in life; and works wonders in developing the concentration and memory. A Mantra has different effects on different energy centres of the body. Many personages like Mahavir, Buddha, Kabir, Guru Nanak, Swami Vivekanand, Ramkrishna Paramhansa, Swami Ramtirtha, Pujyapaad Swami Sri Lilashahji Maharaj, etc. have attained respect and reverence all around the world through their awareness of the True glory of Mantra.

What type of clothes should be worn during performance of Japa?

Dhoti and Kurta are cheap and convenient wears, which, besides meeting the above objectives, also serve the purpose of religious and cultural integrity. Dhoti and Kurta are also easily washable. In those regions where Dhoti-Kurta are not traditional wears, clean-washed Pyjama may be used. Socks should never be worn during the Sadhana. These are considered as dirty as shoes. (However, to ward off extreme cold, one may wear clean socks reserved exclusively, for this purpose). Though traditionally a yellow Dupatta (Angavastra) on shoulders is recommended, it is not mandatory. Ladies may wear yellow Saree or a loose traditional wear. For Group performance, it is advisable to keep stock of spare clothes for the visiting participants.

What is the significance of Havan?

Jap and Havan are basic ingredients of an Anusthan. After initiation (Dikcha) the worshipper (Sadhak) makes a total surrender to Gayatri and Yagya (his spiritual parents), which are inseparable. Invocation of both is done through specified procedures during the Anusthan.

What is the ideal ‘Bramhabhoj’ after completion of the ‘Anusthan’?

After Poornahuti in the Havan. Traditionally it requires feeding Brahmans or young maidens. Qualified, deserving Brahmans are not easily available, these days. Alternatively, maidens (who being symbolic of mother power of God the Matri Shakti, are fed to augment faith) are offered food, but at times they are not permitted by self-respecting parents to take food in a stranger’s house.

What is the time of the day recommended for Jap during an Anusthan? Is it necessary to complete Jap at a stretch?

The best time is in the morning for all spiritual activities. And yes mantra chanting can be done in instalments ,the maximum breaks taken can be upto six.Although one should try to talke less breaks.

What is “VAAM MARG”?

Sadhanas are carried out in two ways. These are designated as the ‘Dakchin Marg’ and ‘Vaam Marg’ or Tantra. The Vaam Marg, on the other hand, is the technique of pulling out bio-energy from living beings and utilizing it for exercising psychic control over others and for exorcist activities. Tantriks call this energy as Durga or Kali. In practice, the Tantrik excites the bio-energy of an animate being by violently killing it or inflicting excruciating pain on it by extraction of flesh or blood. It is tempting for some highly egoistic and ambitious persons to acquire extraordinary powers through Tantra, But its practise is extremely complex and dangerous.

Is Akhand Yagya permissible?

Yagya should be completed in a fixed time during the day only. The reason being the possibility of insects, worms etc. getting killed in the sacred fire, which makes it a violent and profane act. It is not usually advisable.

Is taking a bath essential prior to Jap?

It is advisable to take a bath before sitting for a jap,the saadhak should maintain cleanliness ,but again changes,in daily routine can be taken into account.  We prescribe cleanliness of body and clothes, it is not considered mandatory for all occasions. Situations may arise when the worshipper finds it difficult to adhere to this rule strictly. Under such circumstances, one should not discontinue the routine of worship. Besides cleanliness, the objective of these preparatory rituals is to help the worshipper in getting rid of lethargy. A sick or weak person may wash his arms, feet and face, or if possible wipe the body with a wet cloth.

On what should one concentrate during Upasana?

Saadhk believing in Divinity ‘with form’ (Sakar) are advised to concentrate on an idol or picture of Gayatri, whereas those having faith in formless God (Nirakar) may concentrate in the central, part of the sun, all the while imagining that the ethereal solar energy, it is necessary to concentrate one’s thoughts exclusively on the deity.

Is Jap permissible along-with other activities? One may perform Jap even while walking or without taking a bath or during other physical activities. On such occasions, however, it should only be a mental process without movement of lips, larynx and tongue. This is called an Upaanshu jap. Instead of taking the help of a rosary, a clock may be used for keeping a count .

How is it possible for illiterate persons and children to do Gayatri Sadhana, for whom the pronunciation of the Mantra is somewhat difficult?

Illiterate persons who cannot utter Gayatri Mantra correctly, can perform Jap of PanchakshariGayatri “Om bhoor Bhuvaha Swaha.” If they cannot utter even these words correctly, they can perform Jap of “Hari Om Tat-Sat.” This also serves the purpose of Panchakshari Gayatri Mantra.

What is the difference between a Yogi, a Guru and a Swami?

All these terms define different concepts. A Yogi is one who practices Yoga. It can be referred to occasional practitioners or sometimes full-time aspirants

Having reached a certain degree of realization on the path the Yogi can become a Guru and have disciples. The Gurus of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers are Sri Swami Vishnu-devananda and his own Guru Sri Swami Sivananda.

The Yogis traditionally embrace either the householder path after their training or sometime the monastic life by renouncing the world and becoming a Swami or renounciate.

Why do Yogis breathe through the nose both when inhaling and exhaling ?

Because it is more natural and because the nose in an integral part of the respiratory system, allowing the air to be heated, moistened and filtered.

I know that one should not change one’s Mantra, but I have been initiated into a Mantra and since then, I have developed more devotion to a different deity and I feel the vibration of its corresponding Mantra more powerfully. Should I switch anyway?

Many meditators share the experience described above. And yet it would be a major mistake to switch Mantras. It is a common mental pattern to get bored with something we have been doing over a long period of time. Everything else seems very new and refreshing in comparison. However, regularity is essential in order to go deeper and deeper in meditation.

Should I follow a Vegetarian diet  during jap?

A healthy motto is: “Eat to live, not live to eat”. It is best if we understand that the purpose of eating is to supply our being with the lifeforce,or Prana, the vital life energy. So the greatest nutritional plan for the Yoga student is the simple diet of natural fresh foods. Any change in diet should be made gradually. Start by substituting larger portions of vegetables, grains, seeds and nuts until finally all flesh products have been completely eliminated from the diet

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶?

Sadhguru: Kanti Sarovar means “a lake of grace.” It was named as the Lake of Grace because the first transmission of Yoga happened on the banks of this lake. Fifteen thousand years ago, when Adiyogi appeared in the upper regions of Himalayas, people gathered in thousands. His very persona was such that it attracted people. But he said nothing. He simply sat there unmoving for months on end. If someone has to sit like this, he must be beyond his physical nature. Only seven people identified this and they stayed back. These seven people are referred to today as the Saptarishis or the seven celestial sages.

One day, when Adiyogi’s attention fell upon them, he gave them a few preparatory steps and said, “You prepare, let’s see.” He noticed that they have become like shining receptacles and he sat down on the banks of Kanti Sarovar and started expounding the science of Yoga. They went into long periods of Samadhi states to assimilate this science and knowing, and to integrate that into the human form. The most prominent of them is Agastya.

The legend says that he went into his sadhana in a subterranean space and stayed there in a mode of hibernation for a long period of time. When he came out, he had completely integrated the knowledge as a part of himself, carrying it not as intellectual property but as a reverberating process of his own human system. He decided to fulfill his mission of going south, and of all the seven disciples, he became the most prominent because of the vigor with which he spread this across the southern part of the subcontinent.

Agastya Muni lived an extraordinary life. It is believed that he also lived an extraordinary span of life. The legend says that he lived for 4000 years.

We do not know whether he lived for 4000 years, but he definitely lived much longer than a normal human lifespan. If you look at the volume of activity he performed in his life, it does not look like he died in 100 years’ time. He must have lived for at least 400 years because the volume of activity he performed is not possible within a normal human lifespan. Today, we are jetting around and driving around, so we are able to do so many more things in a short span of time. But the kind of travel Agastya did on foot, it is impossible for a man to have done that much activity in a normal span of human life. He definitely lived very long.

Yoga came in a particular format to Southern India through Agastya. In many ways, Agastya is the father of Southern Indian mysticism.

All the siddhars of Southern India are very much in the tradition of Agastya. Southern Indian mysticism has a different flavor to it. That is because of Agastya. In a way, everything that I do is just a small extension to Agastya’s work. He built a colossus of a place. We are just adding one extra room to it. He ensured that some element of spirituality is in everyone’s life. It may be going away, but if you just look at the last generation, it is still very much there. Even a simple peasant in southern India has some element of spirituality in him. This was Agastya’s work.

If you go to the southern part of India, anywhere south of the Vindhyachal mountains, in almost every village, people will say, “Agastya Muni meditated here, Agastya Muni lived in this cave, Agastya Muni planted this tree.” There are an endless number of stories like this because he touched every human habitation south of the Himalayas with a spiritual process – not as a teaching, religion, or some kind of philosophy, but as a part of life. As your mother taught you how to get up in the morning and brush your teeth, the spiritual process was taught like that.

You can see the remnants of this being practiced unconsciously by common people, not even knowing that it is a spiritual process. The way you sit, stand and do things, everything has a spiritual basis. In spite of eight to ten generations of absolute poverty, you will still see that there is a certain sense of balance, joy, and contentment in people, which you rarely see anywhere else on the planet.

Kailash is like a tremendous spiritual library for me. When they say this is the abode of Shiva, it does not mean he is still dancing on the snow. It means that everything that he was is invested in that place. Not just him, everyone else who came invested their energies in Kailash. For me, the most significant thing is that Agastya Muni invested his energies in Kailash. Agastya is the source of everything that is Southern Mysticism and the very source of everything that I am and he invested everything that he was in the Southern face of Kailash. In terms of natural beauty, there are no words for it, but in terms of its power and energy, it is absolutely incredible.

𝗔𝗴𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘂, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗹𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝘁

Kalaripayattu is probably the oldest martial art form on the planet. It was essentially taught by Agastya Muni to start with because martial arts are not just about kicking, punching or stabbing. It is about learning to use the body in every possible way. It not only involves exercise and other aspects of agility, it also involves understanding the energy system. There is Kalari chikitsa and Kalari marma which involves knowing the secrets of the body and healing the body quickly to keep the body in a regenerative mode. Maybe in today’s world there are very few Kalari practitioners who dedicate enough time, energy, and focus, but if you go deep enough, you will naturally move towards Yoga because anything that came from Agastya cannot be any other way than being spiritual. It is just another possible way of exploration.

There are unexplored dimensions of the body. Some martial arts masters can kill you just with a little touch. Killing someone with a touch is not a big deal. If you can make them come alive with a touch, that is a big thing. With a simple touch, the whole system can come awake. If you explore this human system, this is a cosmos by itself. It can do tremendous things just sitting here. This is the way of Yoga. Kalari is just a more active form of that.

Siddha vaidya is an evolution from the Yogic science and was essentially formulated by Agastya Muni. They say Adiyogi himself practiced it and Agastya brought it to the Southern part of India. It is elemental in nature, which needs less study but more internal mastery for the person who practices it. Essentially it is elemental in nature. It comes more from the Yogic science because the fundamental of Yogic science is in Bhuta Shuddhi or cleansing of one’s elements.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗮

We look at Agastya and the other Saptarishis with open-mouthed wonder, because these human beings do not look human. They may look special, but actually they built themselves up. The aspiration, the determination, the unyielding focus without any support, how they worked and worked even as they were neglected – this preparation is the most important aspect about them. It did not matter to them if they had to come back and do eighty-four lifetimes of preparation; they were willing to do it.

The Saptarishis did not drop from the sky. No one knows where they were born in the Indian subcontinent. Some women would have delivered them somewhere in some insignificant place. They did not drop from heaven; they built themselves up. That is what is significant about their life story and about Yoga and sadhana: no matter who you are, how the hell you were born, who your parents were, what kind of karma you have – if you are willing, you can build yourself up.

Let us say Agastya Muni was from a local village here and he just vanished. He went to the Himalayas to be with Adiyogi. What do you think the villagers were talking about Agastya? Do you think they were praising his parents saying, “Oh, your son is becoming a great sage?” No. They were making fun of his parents, saying “Your idiot boy, where is he?” Even if he came back after whatever number of years, do you think they would have been thrilled to see him? Excited that he had gone to Himalayas, met Adiyogi and returned? No, they would have laughed at him as he came back in a loincloth looking like a wild creature. Now, we may look at the man in terms of what he became with open-mouthed wonder, but in his time, there was no recognition or appreciation. No one clapped their hands for him. Everyone thought he was a nutcase who left his parents, the irresponsible boy who ran away. Through all that, never wavering – just being on, on, on – that is Agastya Muni. His direction was set and no matter what happened, he chose to remain in grace, never wavering from what he was doing.

Spiritual secrets Revealed

 Shiva Guru Spark Yoga 🧘‍♀️

We speak things into existence through the language of energetic emission. The energy fields surrounding our body channel our feelings as subtle pulsations that ripple into a vast field of Universal consciousness and magnetize a vibrational match in physical form.

We may not always desire what we attract into our lives, but what we attract is always a precise lesson that reveals our inner workings. Nothing is certain but our certitude of focus in the now, and our perspective communicates with the future as much as it reveals the past that went into its formation.

The brain is a multidimensional receiver of vibrational information encoded through the layers of our awareness, just as it is the programmer of all past and future experience. Think of your emotions as data. Keep a grip on your mental program via mindfulness to augment the reality you’re experiencing.

Populate your inner world with creative potential by displacing judgement with acceptance. The feelings you generate give rise to the subsequent experiences you will be responding to.

Choose to be joyous, grateful, and enthusiastic about life before the reason to do so even presents itself, and you have found yourself a biohacking tool to pre-program the reality of your choosing.

Spiritual wisdom About Memory

Reality, as we experience it, is a holographic projection of quantum string entanglement on a hyper-dimensional manifold lying an infinite distance away.

The universe is a black hole.

Encoded in its hidden dimensions are the histories of all possible universes.

And at its core, the universe is running a real-time search algorithm for novelty, a quantum computer evolving complexity as fast as possible.

What we perceive on the event horizon is a simulation, a necessary illusion created by the brain to facilitate survival on a hyperbolic landscape of entangled strings.

And with a virtual reality headset tuned specifically to the game of natural selection, we re-construct the hologram to explore its degrees of freedom and exploit them.

If this is true, if the universe is, in fact, a hologram, then it follows that like all holograms, a reference beam is needed for its re-construction.

Luckily, our nervous system provides just such a ray of light.

In this model, inspired by the work of David Bohm, consciousness emerges into the explicate order — the present — and is distorted by the interference patterns of the implicate order — the past and the future —thereby binding memory and expectation into perception and action.

Consciousness — the awareness of the present — is an entangled state of perpetual enfolding of the past and unfolding of the future.

Ultimately, consciousness is really the platform for making a choice…a multi-dimensional awareness of and response to the environment.

Perception, then, is the re-construction of the hologram, a momentary collapse of the wave-function into an explicate order. The filtering and focusing of attention predicated on the past and future.

Perception is the simulation.

In essence, you are perception and perception is you.

THAT you are here to remember ❤
